ITV This Morning fans respond as mortified Holly Willoughby drops 's bomb' after Phillip Schofield baffled with apology

Holly Willoughby quickly sprung into action with an apology after a mortifying slip-up on This Morning. The presenter was back at the helm of the programme on Monday (October 31), however, it wasn't viewers' normal dose of ITV daytime show.

This Morning had been taken over by a haunted hue had taken over the screen - so no need to adjust your TV screens - and the studio also looked unrecognisable in comparison to how it usually appears, with plenty of cobwebs, decorations, and spooky surprises.

But the biggest surprise came courtesy of the This Morning team as Uncle Fester and Wednesday Addams took over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for one morning only. Of course, it was still Holly and Phillip but the hosting duo had undergone an incredible transformation.

And they weren't the only members of the well-recognized household who crept on to the ITV daytime show's set. Alison Hammond also joined the fun as Morticia Addams while Matthew Wright, Gyles Brandreth, Gok Wan and Steve Wilson who were among those to have been swapped from the This Morning family for the Addams Family.

Steve was on hand for another game of Guess the Gadget and Holly's words got the better of her. Picking up one of the items, the 41-year-old said: "What the hell?" and as it began to move, she remarked: "Oh, it's electric!" before admitting: "Okay, I don't know what that does."

But Holly's competitive nature may have got the better of her as after getting frustrated, Holly remarked: "Oh, s***!" before realising what she had said and quickly issuing an apology. "Sorry," she commented, looking sheepilshly at the camera. "Sorry, sorry, sorry," she carried on saying. "Something might have just slipped out, I'm so sorry!"

Phillip then looked directly down the camera and said: "I am so sorry. I think that Holly may have just sworn and for that, I can only apologise and she will, after the show, be hanging in the car park with Matthew Wright."

"It wasn't Holly, it was Wednesday," Holly joked as Phillip tried to stay in character and warned: "Wash your mouth." This Morning viewers, however, were quick to see the funny side.

@onlysmols tweeted: "Hahaha Holly is making my day today 'oh s**t' I love swear words on live TV, it's like finding a tenner on the floor #ThisMorning." @zilli315 said: "Holly saying s**t on #ThisMorning has been the best thing about this show today." @TheIntoxicatedJ noted: "Holly with the S**t bomb #ThisMorning."

Phillip had earlier apologised on behalf of Matthew Wright (ITV)

@Auntie_Dana shared: "Holly/Wednesday never swore on live daytime TV?! #ThisMorning." @jaynie2905 added: "#ThisMorning it wasn't @hollywills it was Wednesday. Actually cracking up." But @kellymew_ added: "'Oh s**t', we are all thinking the same Holly #ThisMorning."

It came after Phillip issued a separate apology earlier in the programme. Following an advert break, Holly asked her co-star, who was unrecognisable without his trademark silver locks, asked: "What is wrong with you? Why are you so agitated?" He then replied: "I think we have already made a mistake...

"I think unwittingly, Matthew Wright may have swore on the TV. We can only apologise. I am sorry. I think he has been taken out and he is hanging by his fingernails in the car park. There he is." But This Morning viewers claim they 'didn't her' Matthew's profanity while @ChrisDeityUK argued: "No, he didn’t swear, he said sheeting down ffs #ThisMorning".
