This Morning fans were left gobsmacked when they realised how old Alison Hammond is on the latest show. The presenter was, of course, back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Friday alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary where they had another busy show on their hands.
And things got off to a bit of a different start. After the usual opening credits rolled, co-starss Dermot and Alison were nowhere to be seen. Instead, the London-based ITV studio had been taken over.
As The Wombles of Wimbledon theme song played out to viewers' living rooms as different members of the This Morning family were seen flanked by the iconic children's TV characters around the studio including Dr Scott and Gyles Brandreth.
Then eventually, Alison and Dermot appeared flanked by a Womble each before joining together for a dance. The pair then officially welcomed viewers to the show and explained that the iconic characters from the 70s were celebrating 50 years since the first TV episode, hence their appearance on This Morning.
It was then time for the hosting duo to crack on with the show which started with the latest This Morning's View which sees Alison, Dermot and two guests discuss the latest news headlines.
There were also appearances from Tom Kerridge who whipped up a delicious crispy chicken burger in the kitchen, theatre star Lee Mead who spoke about his hair transplant and the cast of new ITV drama, Maternal.
But all eyes were on Alison who dazzled those watching from home in a gorgeous pink number. The mum-of-one looked gorgeous in the plunging, frilly number while her glossy dark locks had been styled into a straight do.
And Alison was in a celebratory mood as she was preparing for her birthday weekend. The former Big Brother star will be marking her day of birth on Sunday (February 5) while her son, Aidan, will be turning 18 on the same day.
But it was Alison's age that stunned viewers as they couldn't believe she will be turning 48. She said on the programme: "I am proud of my age. I will be 48 on Sunday and I feel blessed that I have got to that age. So many people haven’t got to that age. I just feel so happy to celebrate it."
