This Morning fans found themselves being distracted as actress Charlie Murphy made an almost unrecognisable appearance on the programme. The Happy Valley star appeared live in the studio on the ITV daytime show, alongside actor Richard Armitage.
Charlie, who played Ann Gallagher in the hit BBC One police drama that came to a dramatic end earlier this year, appeared alongside Richard to chat to This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about their new steamy Netflix series, Obsession.
However, the presenting duo couldn't not ask Charlie about the third - and final - season of Happy Valley which had millions of viewers hooked from start to finish between January and Feburary this year. "[It was] such a great thing [to be part of] and to come back to it after seven years as well," she said.
"And we always knew we would after series two." Charlie, who started as a kidnap victim who later becomes a Police Community Support Officer and was dating the son of Sarah Lancashire's lead character Sergeant Catherine Caewood, continued: "It's like opening a time capsule like seeing everyone on set again.
"Some people have had kids some people are with different people, you know, you just catching up all the time. I just remember when the cameras were rolling... They were like, 'you have to stop talking about your private life. It's rolling. You have to start.'"
But some Happy Valley fans may not have recognised Charlie as she was sporting a completely different, look compared to when they last saw her on-screen. Her short brunette locks had been swapped for blonde and viewers were distracted by her 'underwear-like' attire.
@Samanth08478617 said: "She's arrived wearing her underwear #ThisMorning." @Boppity_Boo34 tweeted: "Is it warm in London she’s only got that thin frock on #ThisMorning." @IanBartlett_ asked: "#thismorning why is she wearing her nightie." While @IckieBickie added: "Charlie Murphy looking stunning as always #ThisMorning."
Talking about Obsession on the show, Alison revealed she was "hooked" to the erotic thriller as Dermot said: "It's all she's talking about for the past 24 hours," admitted that she had binge-watched a number of episodes between having dinner at his home on Wednesday evening to arriving for work on Thursday morning.
Obsession, which hits Netflix on May 13, is a modern adaptation of Josephine Hart's novella, Damage, and is about the love triangle and affair between the enigmatic Anna (Charlie) and her fiancée's father, William (Richard). Soon, William is drawn into an obsessive spiral leading to the question of how long the pair can keep their secret hidden.
