ITV This Morning fans cringe at live Valentine's Day proposal where woman is serenaded

This Morning fans were left cringing today after one man proposed to his girlfriend live on TV and left presenter Josie Gibson in tears.

The Valentine's Day proposal was planned in advance and couple Ellen and Dan were enjoying brunch when all of a sudden they were serenaded by a singer and dancers in an awkward moment.

Ellen was absolutely stunned when the singer belted out a rendition of Bruno Mars' Marry You and her man got down on one knee, and the dancers opened their cardigans to reveal the words 'Will you marry me'.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to discuss "cringe" television moment.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "This is so cringe."

While one penned: "How embarrassing, poor girl."

Another commented: "I’d want the ground to open up and swallow me!!"

And one cringed: "Never thought it was physically possible for my toes to curl but here we are."

But some viewers thought it was sweet.

Another said: "I thought my pregnancy hormones had settled but I’ve just cried at someone proposing on this morning."

After the big question had been asked the couple were then invited into the studio for another surprise.

They were given a week in Antigua for their honeymoon.
