ITV This Morning fans 'can't be bothered' as they fume over show start

This Morning fans were left saying they 'couldn't be bothered' with the last show of the week due to its unusual start. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were back for Friday's show as they wrapped up the ITV daytime show before the bank holiday weekend.

But instead of running the usual credits and going straight to the presenting duo in the London-based studio, there was a huge performance outside in the sunshine as a complete orchestra played the Downton Abbey theme tune.

It came just minutes after Lorraine Kelly had concluded her self-titled ITV show this morning with a segment on Downton Abbey-inspired outfits.

As the orchestra completed their rendition, the camera cut to the studio where hosts Alison and Dermot were ready to start the final episode of This Morning of the week. Alison said that the orchestra was "lovely" before welcoming ITV viewers to a "very classy Friday This Morning."

But viewers tuning in weren't happy about the change. @wendywooto tweeted: "Please don’t tell me this is going to be downton all episode I can’t be bothered #thismorning."

"Give it a rest with the downtown overkill!! #thismorning," @kellymcc5 fumed.

@TashAmaka begged: "Not more Downton Abbey pleeeease #thismorning."

"#ThisMorning omg Downtown overload," @Sezzarid wrote.

@MissLionHeart shared: "#ThisMorning is making me despise Downton Abbey even more!"

It comes after a day after This Morning viewers made a plea to the show's bosses after noticing its recurring Downton Abbey theme. It comes ahead of the release of the ITV period drama's second big-screen outing, Downton Abbey: A New Era, which hits cinemas on Friday (April 29).

The presenters then appeared minutes into Friday's show (ITV)

On Thursday's show the latest fashion segment was adapted to coincide with the film's return with a twist as this time the Crawley's are taking the drama to the French Riviera. Therefore, Lisa Faulkner was showing viewers what Très Chic outfits they should be adding to their wardrobe.

However, it came after Made In Chelsea star turned This Morning regular Georgia Toffolo has been presenting the show's competition segment from one of the movie's locations. Earlier this week she took viewers on a glamorous trip to the real-life villa where filming took place.

Not only that, on Monday's show Holly and Phillip sat down with Downton Abbey's newest star Hugh Dancy, who is playing the director of a film being shot at Downton. As a result, viewers said the show was "obsessed".
