ITV The Masked Dancer viewers say Joel Dommett reminds them of famous star after showing his moves

Joel Dommett showcased his very own moves as he returned to screens on The Masked Dancer. The comedian and TV host was back at the helm of the bonkers dance competition as the expert panel and viewers continued to try and guess who is behind the mask.

After a reminder of last week's show, which saw Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page unmasked as Pig, it was Joel who was first up to get things off to an energetic start before the elaborate characters disguising celebrities took to the stage.

The 37-year-old shimmied and sashayed his way onto the stage in front of the studio audience, flanked by the show's backing dancer in sparkling silver disguises.

Making his way up to the guessing panel - made up of Davina McCall Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and new addition Peter Crouch - Joel busted moves to the Bee Gees' classic disco track, You Should Be Dancing. And he did it all in an eye-catching pearlized blue suit over a white shirt with an added black bow tie.

And the judges appeared to love every minute of it, getting up out of their seats and grooving along. "This is the Masked Dancer and I am a very out of breath Joel Dommett," the host said as he introduced himself after finishing up his routine.

Meanwhile, ITV viewers watching at home thought Joel reminded them of another famous TV face who was also known for throwing a few moves when on a huge Saturday night TV show.

Best bit of dancing, ever.. #TheMaskedDancer."

And it turns out Joel DOES want to compete on the show, which also has its singing spin-off The Masked Singer. He had revealed that he would "love" to follow in the footsteps of The Masked Singer US host Nick Cannon, who took a break from hosting after contracting Covid before secretly competing as a Wildcard contestant on the show.

He told Radio Times : "It's a great idea. We're always looking for new twists. To be honest, I think I wouldn't like to give someone the chance to host the show because they would enjoy it too much and want to take over."
