Joel Dommett left viewers of The Masked Dancer UK distracted as the show made its telly comeback. The bonkers ITV show, a spin-off the popular Masked Singer, returned to TV screens on Saturday night (September 3).
Comedian Joel returned to the programme as host while chat show host Jonathan Ross, TV presenter Davina McCall and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse took to the panel alongside newbie Peter Crouch.
The former England footballer has replaced comedian Mo Gilligan for this series as the Bafta TV winner had to drop out due to other work commitments.
But not only is The Masked Dancer, its extravagant costumes, and Joel back, so are the host's eye-catching suits. The first episode of the new series saw the 37-year-old don a marbled red and blue suit jacket and matching trousers over a black shirt and shiny black shoes.
However, the unfortunate placing of some of the patterns and colours led to viewers doing a double take as it made it look as though he had suffered a bit of an accident.
@debbiehickmotttweeted: "Unfortunately Joel's trousers make it look as he has big wet patch!" The same viewer also added: "@MaskedSingerUK Oh dear, Joel trousers make him look if he's wet himself the dark unfortunately place." @phildixonhaymes commented: "Is it just me or is Joel Dometts suit awful?? The blue flowers seem unfortunately placed on his trousers. Lol."
And Joel has already revealed that he was left red-faced during filming for the current series of The Masked Dancer. Joel recalled the awkwardly placed details on one of his outfits prior to the first show going live. Speaking about the wardrobe blunder, he told The Mirror and other press: "We had one suit. It was a space-themed episode and I had this suit made, which was beautiful with stars and galaxies on it.
"But what they hadn't foreseen when they made it... they had two blue ball planets exactly what where you'd expect. Once you see it, you can't see it. Two at the back as well."
And it turns out it's not the only time Joel has been left red-faced this series after he mistook an unknown celebrity for one of his friends. Revealing all to the Mirror: "There's one person in particular I definitely thought it was someone that I knew quite well. And so I was interacting with them in their costume in a way of like, how's it going? You know, nice to see you.
"You're doing so well, pat on the shoulder; the way that you interact with friends. It was genuinely embarrassing for me when they took the mask off and it wasn't them. I was like, oh, I've really been completely bamboozled. So it was very weird, but fun."
