ITV The Chase under fire as viewers fume over team's 'unfair' treatment

Fans of The Chase were fuming over a team's "unfair" treatment on today's show.

Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players on Friday's edition of the popular ITV gameshow. Sarah, Finlay, Dave and Nichola were testing their wits against Paul Sinha in a bid to win a cash prize.

The team started off in impressive fashion as Sarah progress through to the last round with £5,000. She set the tone for a dominant display as Finlay also booked his place in the final round with £7,000.

It was a full house as Dave and Nichola booked their spot in the Final Chase as the team competed for an overall £23,000. The team put in an impressive performance in the last round as they built up 17 steps.

However, viewers thought it should have been 18 as Bradley asked: "What type of vehicle is the Vespa Primavera 50?"

Sarah buzzed in to answer moped when the correct answer was scooter. Viewers following the show on Twitter felt the 34-year-old project manager's answer should have been allowed.

Amy said: "If I was Sarah I’d go to the producers about that moped question, I’d be fuming"

Joseph added: "Moped or scooter? The eternal debate"

India commented: "Come on #TheChase. A Vespa IS a moped. Very unfair to insist on scooter."

Craig posted: "A vespa is moped or scooter. If they lose with seconds to spare be outrage"

Chris tweeted: "Scooter, moped...moped, scooter? pedantic"

Aaron said: "What?! They didn’t give moped?!?! A moped is a scooter!"

Alfie commented : "Sorry is a scooter not a moped???"

However, the Sinnerman was in unstoppable form as he caught the team with 25 seconds remaining.
