ITV The Chase's Mark Labbett 'surrenders' as he goes up against 'best player'

Mark Labbett threatened to "surrender" from the game on tonight's episode of The Chase.

Fabe, Robyn, Joe and Angelene came together as a team to test their wits with hopes of going home with a cash prize. Bradley Walsh welcomed them to the ITV quiz show as they went head to head with Chaser Mark 'The Beast' Labbett.

The game got off to an excellent start as seat one player Fabe secured nine correct answers in the cash builder round. Fabe was made three offers - £1,000, £9,000 and £40,000 - but decided to settle on a middle offer of nine grand.

The primary school teacher explained: "If I was sitting in a different seat I might have gone for the 40, but since I'm starting off I'll stick to the nine."

His reason was because the team were unaware of what form the Chaser was in, and the player didn't want to be easily caught. Mark said: "It is an absolute waste of the best player in seat one."

Bradley agreed as he said: "Yeah, it is a shame that." Mark added: "You're almost trapped by the offers. If you're not the best player, I surrender now."

As expected, Fabe flew through the round, securing a place in the final. Mark joked: "It's a shame I haven't got the opportunity to buy him off there. If I give you a grand will you walk now?"

Fabe laughed before making his way back to his teammates. Bradley praised him as he commented on already having a very good player in the final chase.
