Bradley Walsh was wowed as a future Coronation Street actress competed on today's edition of The Chase.

The 61-year-old presenter welcomed four quizzers on Wednesday's episode of the popular ITV game show. Jill, James, Malcolm and Kat were testing their wits against Shaun Wallace in a bid to win a cash prize.

Jill was up in seat 1 and the host was impressed when the 50-year-old revealed she worked as an actress. Bradley probed what she had appeared in.

She said: "Theatre, bits of TV. I've just done Twelfth Night at the Manchester Royal Exchange. I got a lot of my work because I played trumpet as well so my first show was Return to the Forbidden Planet, a big musical."

Jill was hoping to visit her brother in Singapore and built up £5,000 in an impressive cash-builder. However, the Dark Destroyer was in imperious form and defeated Jill in the head-to-head.

Bradley Walsh was sorry to lose Jill from the Final Chase, but urged her to keep going with her acting career.

He said: "Please, please, please keep going with the acting. Keep playing with the trumpet of course."

Today's episode of The Chase was a repeat, and Jill took Bradley's advice as she appeared in an five episodes of Coronation Street last year as Dr Adlington. Her character appeared in scenes alongside Peter Barlow after he required medical attention for a liver condition caused by years of drinking abuse.

James, Malcolm and Kat progressed to the Final Chase and were competing for a total of £5,000. The team built up 13 steps but were caught by The Chaser with 24 seconds remaining.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub
