ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh threatens to end show before contestant's questions

Bradley Walsh threatened to cut The Chase short tonight as he slammed the team's performance.

The host welcomed four new faces to take on the Sinnerman on ITV's The Chase. Sam, Pauline, Rachel and Mark gave it their all to add cash to a prize pot which they would play for it they made it through to the final chase.

The game got off to a difficult start after 29-year-old Sam answered three questions correctly in the first round and then opted for a low offer of £1,000.

The next player, Pauline, answered two correctly, before playing for a low offer of £1,000. Both of the players made it back to the bench and through to the final chase.

As she returned to the team, Bradley sarcastically said: "Absolutely setting the world alight with two players and two grand. Wow. We're galloping into Pointless territory."

Addressing chaser Paul Sinha, he said: "I don't think you're in much danger at the moment." Paul replied: "We will just have to wait and see."

Brad pointed out that there were still two more players left to play, with Rachel up next. But his hopes weren't high as he threatened to cut the show short as he added: "If she comes on and takes away, we will head straight to the news."

Fans on Twitter couldn't believe the team's performance. One user said: "What an awful team #TheChase."

Lee said: "My god this team is seriously bad #thechase." Chris said: "Why go on the ruddy show? Low offers all round! So far, a dreadful team on The Chase #thechase."

The game only went from bad to worse too, as Rachel played for £4,000 but was caught and sent home. Mark followed suit as he bravely played for a high offer of £58,000. Unfortunatley he was a bit too brave and was sent home with nothing, leaving Sam and Pauline to play in the final alone.

Bradley said: "Pauline and Sam, inexplicably, have made it through to the final. We're playing for £2,000. 'Wow' I hear you say!"

Paul added: "Statistically they have no chance." He added: "I think they're going to do their best."

In a mad turn of events, Paul also wasn't on the top of his game as the players had six chances at pushbacks. Ultimately the pushbacks won them the game and the chaser ran out of time, declaring them the winners.

They went home with £1,000 each.
