ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh tells contestant how much he loves two Welsh towns

A contestant on The Chase, which aired on ITV on Thursday, November 10, had Bradley Walsh gushing about two towns in South Wales after telling him where she was from.

Julie, a nurse who works in the Princess of Wales hospital in Bridgend, came on the show and hoped to win prize money to fulfil her dream of travelling around Northern Australia and when she told the show host where she worked, she was met with a heartwarming response.

When Julie explained her workplace's location, The 62-year-old presenter and actor said: "Oh, beautiful. Bridgend's a beautiful place. Lovely."

When he asked if she lived in Bridgend herself, Julie responded with: "No, I live in the Vale of Glamorgan, [in a] village just outside Cowbridge."

Cheekily, Bradley replied with a wink and said: "I know exactly where Cowbridge is in the Vale of Glamorgan. Don't you worry about that."

Her roots weren't all that Bradley was intrigued by. As when Julie told him what she did in her spare time, the show's host was shocked.

"I love travel, love eating, love drinking. I would love to learn to fly..." she said.

Bradley blurted: "What do you want to fly for?"

"Because it's liberating. Up above the clouds, looking down. Just flying.."

"In a plane or a glider?" said Bradley.

"In a plane. I wouldn't mind a wing walk, as well," Julie said. "You're kidding. No! You don't need to," Bradley gasped. To which Julie replied, confidently: "You only live once."

Bradley jokingly said: "Well, that might be the case!" When he asked what she would do with her prize money today, should she win, the presenter pleaded with her not to say wing walk.

Bradley seems to have visited Wales an awful lot and tells many of his contestants when they tell him they're from our gorgeous country, how much he loves it. It no doubt stems from his host of acting jobs, especially his role as Graham O'Brien in the BBC's Doctor Who.

The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
