ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh questions why he hosts the game

Bradley Walsh questioned why he was hosting instead of playing on tonight's episode of The Chase.

The host of the ITV quiz show welcomed four new players to go head to head with a chaser. Contestants Claire, Elliott, Gordon and Risha tested their wits against Paul Sinha with hopes of winning a cash prize.

But Bradley showed both the chaser and a player up as he chirped in with what he thought the answers would be. He questioned why he was presenting instead of being a contestant as he "thrashed" the others on set.

He asked: "What term describes a carpet with a tightly curled pile? Loop, twist or shag?" Claire, the player, chose shag as she said: "Shag pile?" Bradley said: "Twist."

The answer was revealed and Bradley was proven to be correct. Excitedly, he said: "I'm three up, I should play the game!"

It was then shown that Paul also chose shag, which was the incorrect answer. Bradley was overjoyed as he said: "I'm thrashing these two... Thrashing them. I'd be home now. I should be a player, what am I doing hosting the show?"

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub
