ITV The Chase makes major change to show in lockdown

The Chase viewers noticed a major change has been made to the ITV gameshow during lockdown.

Usually, four TV adverts are shown by their sponsors Gala Bingo.

Previously, the advert featured a woman playing bingo, while Anne Hegerty called out the next number.

In February, Gala Bingo switched things up with new adverts where Chasers sit at a dressing table pensively.

52 Lives is The Chase's new sponsor (ITV)

They then read out a number shown on the flashing lights, before making a cutting comment.

For example, Shaun Wallace would say: "Number 82, I'm going to get more right than you."

However, eagle-eyed fans spotted The Chase had a new sponsor - 52 lives charity.

The charity nominate someone in need of help and every week choose someone to help, share their story and request what they need.

Gala Bingo are partners of 52 lives charity, and each day have charity games where 100% of the proceeds go to the charity.

Perceptive fans noticed the change, with many taking to Twitter.

David tweeted: "New sponsor klaxon."

Callum said: "Oh no they didn’t get a new sponsor for #TheChase".

Gaz wrote: "Ooo new sponsor! The contestants wont be getting any kindness from me though."

Jonny said: "No more Gala Bingo sponsors."

And Sandra wrote: "Eh? New sponsors?"
