ITV The Chase fans brand show ‘disgusting’ during celebrity special rerun

The Chase fans were disgruntled after tonight’s Celebrity special show.

Celebrities Omid Djalili, Susan Calman, Dermot Murnaghan and Perri Shakes-Drayton joined host Bradley Walsh on the episode today (7 May). They battled Anne Hegerty, otherwise known as The Governess, to raise money for charities.

There were close calls throughout the show, with comedian Omid Djalili narrowly missing out on putting £125,000 in the pot. Despite failing to secure money, Omid was given a rare standing ovation by The Governess for his brave attempt, who said: “I thought you were absolutely awesome, I have never done this before but…”

The remaining three were caught by Anne in the final round, with just one second in the way of victory. Luckily, all three were given a small prize to give to their chosen charities, despite their loss.

However, eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the whole episode was too familiar. The show was a rerun of an 2020 episode, leaving some fans disappointed.

The episode first aired in October 2020, which was 19 months ago. One viewer immediately took to Twitter to call the show “disgusting” for airing the rerun instead .

@Wilma2020 wrote: “@ITVChase again, this is either the 3rd or 4th repeat of tonight’s show. Disgusting”

@Queen_Vix88 simply asked: “Is there not any new celebrity chase episodes #thechase”.

@ Datman28230817 agreed: “I’m a big fan of #thechase & #thechasecelebrityspecial but I’ve seen this episode so many times I know the answers before I’ve heard the questions- do you reckon you could make some new programs ??”

This episode was a repeat - watch the Chase on ITV at 5pm or on catch-up ITV Hub.
