ITV The Chase fans baffled by player's unusual job

The Chase fans were confused today as a player got his questions wrong, despite his "unusual" job.

The quiz show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, gives contestants a chance to win a cash prize. This evening's show saw Nick, Emma, Fiona and Ali work together as they took on the Chaser - Darragh Ennis.

As the contestants took their turns, first up was Nick who brought back £5,000. When asked by Bradley about his occupation, he said he was a magician, with a skill in mind reading.

Host Bradley was left speechless when Nick told him the "biggest illusion" he has done was to send someone back in time. The Chase fans took to social media jokingly made reference to his performance during the multiple questions.

Mary said: "(It would be) more useful to go forward in time to see his questions", as a second fan added: "A magician that can apparently "read minds" got questions wrong on #TheChase Oops."

Many fans were however, taken aback as they commented how the show has seen many magicians during recent episodes. One wrote: "There seem to have been a lot of magicians on #Thechase just recently."

Another added: "I think #TheChase are filling in a quota for magicians" as a third said: "Magician is clearly a popular career option now."

Nick built up £5,000 in an impressive cashbuilder and made it back to the team. All four players took on Darragh in the final chase.

They were competing for £18,000 and built up 18 steps in the last round. It was a successful end for the four players though when Darragh failed to catch them up, meaning they took home over £4,000 each.
