ITV The Chase contestant sparks fury after 'insulting' offer

Fans were fuming with one player on tonight's The Chase.

Four more hopefuls went head to head on the ITV show as Sarah, Ollie, Joanna and Ian faced chaser Jenny Ryan.

But one player riled up viewers as he snubbed some high offers.

When helping other players to decide which offer to accept from Jenny, Ollie repeatedly turned up his nose at high sums of money.

First player Ian, a computer games programmer, played a good first round answering seven questions correctly in his cash builder.

The Chaser offered him a high offer of £23,000 which Ollie said was 'an insult' as he urged his teammate to opt for the middle offer instead.

Ian took his advice and made it back to his team adding £7,000 to the prize pot.

The 29-year-old, Ollie, went on to offer further advice as second player Joanna, a financial team manager, was offered a high amount of £33,000.

He said: "33... Maybe she could dig a little bit deeper in her pocket."

Joanna chose the middle offer of £6,000 but sadly went home empty handed as she was caught by the chaser.

Next up, it was Ollie's turn to be 'insulted' by Ms Ryan as he had hopes of buying a new, nice watch with any winnings.

He earned a respectable £7,000 in his cash builder round.

Jenny offered minus £100k for the lower offer and £45k for the higher offer as she said: "Don't take this as an insult, take this as the cost of getting back to the team."

Fans wondered what option he would go for with already snubbing so many high offers and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

PJ said: "Ollie doesn’t get out of bed for less than £100k #thechase."

Paul said: "£23k was an insult, for £33k he implies it’s not enough still and what does Ollie want to win for? A watch! Go on Jenny and properly insult him with the offers. #thechase."

Another user said: "That Ollie better go for high with that attitude he has Jesus #TheChase"

But Ollie still wasn't overly impressed as he said: "45... Still not impressed enough with it. So maybe you might be a bit more generous in the next one.

"And to be fair you haven't got a question wrong yet. I'll stick with my seven."

He was right not to take the higher offer as unfortunately he went home with nothing.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub
