During her time on the TV , some viewers noticed that she was looking down at the floor a lot.
Cat lover Sammy tweeted why, she said: "Hi all, to everyone saying I'm staring at the floor and look shifty, I'm very sorry, I'm autistic and have trouble looking at people. I tried my best but I was really nervous #thechase #Autism."
She was inundated with messages of support and her tweet has been liked hundreds of times.
One said: "As the mother of a daughter like you, I recognised it pretty quickly. I hate that you have to justify your actions on what should be a fun show but what would have been a massive personal challenge to you. Well done for giving it your best shot and I hope you had a fun day."
Sammy replied: "Thanks :) I did though it was a bit nerve wracking. I can sing in front of thousands of people but for some reason answering questions was more difficult haha"
Another fan of The Chase told Sammy: "You were amazing and incredibly brave to face the last round on your own. We had everything crossed for you to win!!!"
A third added: "Bless you - we could see you were really nervous - thought how brave you were to be there & you did amazing to boot!!"
