ITV Starstruck viewers react as Edinburgh contestant blows away judges

ITV Starstruck viewers were blown away by Edinburgh contestant Frankie's transformation into Billie Eilish on the Saturday night show.

The 25-year-old appeared on the stage in American singer Billie's iconic silver-blue hair, and even drew tears from judge Sheridan Smith's eyes as she emotionally sang.

The Edinburgh singer performed hit single 'When The Partys Over', in front of a captivated audience who gave her a long standing ovation.

The song is a real tug on the heartstrings, and fans flocked to social media to exclaim their excitement and support for the Edinburgh-born contestant.

One Twitter user wrote: "#starstruck @itv Frankie what a voice, I absolutely love to hear u sing. You’re a star, the winner in my eyes."

Another said: "Wow....@Frankielilyyyy is just incredible. Hope she wins. #Starstruck #ITV"

And a third wrote: "It’s final of Starstruck and Just Remember Frankie when your dress up sing one of her biggest songs again as one of biggest pop stars of 21 century Billie Eilish and One thing I want to say The party is not over it’s only started yea @Frankielilyyyy @billieeilish"

A fourth said: "Yes @Frankielilyyyy You smashed that girl. Your vocals are spot on, you are amazing #Starstruck"

Further comments read: "If billie eilish doesn't win tonight it's a fix! All the billie eilish's when they performed were beautiful, so rooting for @Frankielilyyyy tonight", and "Wow. @Frankielilyyyy"

Another even noted: "To be honest I don't really know many Billie eilish songs so I can't really say if she sounds like her or not. However, I do love her voice."

One fan added: "@Frankielilyyyy I just couldn't be proud right now you have shown everyone how talent you are and made me cry so much love for you my big fave whatever happens you always my winner."

The silver-haired singer was in shock at the judges reaction, as panelist Beverley Knight said: "People don't realise how hard it is to sing with that type of voice control. You can easily go flat or off-key with singing Billie's songs.

"And you hit the centre of every note, it was pitch perfect!"

Sheridan agreed, exclaiming: ""Oh God, I'm getting emotional. That was beautiful to watch, and I seriously hope you continue to pursue this seriously."

Jason Manford gave plaudits to Frankie's dad Lee, who looked emotional as he said: "Something special just happened there. Wow."

Jason agreed, saying: "If my daughters came to me with that sort of talent, I'd be bowled over. You are one amazing person."

Adam Lambert mentioned Frankie's age, given that she is the youngest contestant, and said: "People usually need years and years of experience to pull of a performance like that.

"You need to continue this career, you can be up there with your idol if you do!"

Sadly, Frankie ended up as runner up to fellow contestant Rachel as she belted her way as icon Cher to the £50,000 grand prize.
