Gripping, tense, and nail-biting are just some of the words viewers could use to describe the 2022 ITV drama series Trigger Point. Starring Line of Duty star Vicky McClure in the lead role of Lana Washington, the drama, which followed a bomb disposal crew had 11million viewers on the edge of their seats.
In great news for fans of the show the drama has been renewed for a second series and production is starting this week ITV announced the news that filming had commenced by posting a picture of adopted Welshie, Vicky, holding a script that read Trigger Point Series 2 and she was grinning from ear to ear.
They added the caption: “Trigger Point, Series 2,” with a side-eye emoji. Very few other details have been released about the series as no further cast was announced or air date released. There were also pictures of Vicky with Jed Mercurio, Line of Duty creator and he also exec-produced Trigger Point.

Another said: "Yeahhh, can't wait" while a third added: "Let's go". The last series followed Vicky's character, Lana, who is part of a bomb disposal team as she uncovers who she can and can't trust with devastating consequences.
Star Vicky has strong connections with Wales, and Merthyr Tydfil as she and her Welsh fiance Jonny Owen are sponsors of Merthyr Town FC. In 2022 Vicky showed off her Welsh language skills when she spoke Welsh on S4C's show Heno. Vicky couldn't stop giggling as she said: "Fi yw Vicky McClure, croeso i Heno," as she said she was trying to do a Welsh accent.
Jonny and Vicky's links with Merthyr are strong and their new production company, BYO Films, features as a sponsor on The Martyr's kits. BYO Films has just partnered with an international distribution company, All3Media, which will sell the company's productions around the world.
The first project from BYO will be Without Sin, a four-part psychological thriller exploring the relationship which develops between a grieving mother, played by McClure, and the man she believes murdered her daughter. You can read everything you need to know about Without Sin here.
