ITV's This Morning tense as Holly rolls her eyes when Phillip talks over her

The This Morning studio had a moment of tension as presenter Holly Willoughby was spotted looking unimpressed by Phillip Schofield after he cut her off live on air.

The 41-year-old was spotted pulling an unimpressed face when her co-host Phil, 60, butted during a live interview this week. As she opened up about having to ‘rebuild her life,’ Holly responded: “Wow, gosh, and even at…”

But before she could say anything else, Holly was quickly cut off by Phil saying: “43% of your body was burnt I think,” as he went on to ask Polly another question. Holly fell silent after being brutally cut-off mid-sentence, but her face said it all as she looked frustrated and appeared to roll her eyes.

One viewer shared the clip to TikTok and captioned it: “Holly's eye roll when Phil cuts her off.” One fan wrote in the comment section: “Holly don't look impressed,” while another said: “Ha that look says it all.”

One fan jumped to Phillip's defence by writing: “He was probably told to say his lines in his ear piece as they normally are.” Body language expert Judi James has claimed Holly felt ‘suppressed annoyance or irritation’ by Phil's actions.

Speaking to Mail Online Judi said: “Holly’s body language response when Philip talked over her during an interview was one that is familiar to anyone who has been interrupted by their partner at a social event or by a colleague during a business meeting.

“The official response is to smile and move on but it looked like one interruption too many for Holly, whose facial expression suggested suppressed annoyance or irritation.” Judi continued: “She would never have been rude enough or unprofessional enough to roll her eyes upward but they did drop downward as Philip got in there with his own question just as she was asking her own.

“It was an emotional interview and Holly had done the right thing in terms of working in a TV double act, which is to perform an intentional or announcement gesture before you speak to help avoid any cross-talk.

“She had part-raised one hand but it looks like Philip was also eager to get in with his question, and after the pensive drop of her eyes, Holly also performed a pursing of the lips to hint at a level of displeasure.”
