ITV's This Morning pulled off air for breaking announcement from Prime Minister

ITV's This Morning was interrupted today to broadcast an important message from the new Prime Minister.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield had been carrying out a health segment where they helped callers with issues they were facing. A woman had called in about burning mouth syndrome and was explaining her problem when Phil cut her off.

He said: "I just need to pause you for a second. We just want to cut over to the Prime Minister." Holly added: "We will come back to you in a minute."

The camera cut to show Liz Truss in the House of Parliament. She was addressing the current energy crisis.

She said as from October 1, the typical household will now pay no more than £2,500 per year for each of the next two years. It will save households around £1,000 a year and comes with the support of the £400 Energy Support Scheme payments. Truss said it comes as the government are trying to get the energy climate back on track.
