ITV's This Morning cancelled tomorrow for King Charles' Cardiff visit

This Morning has been cancelled tomorrow to make way for rolling news coverage.

King Charles III will be making a trip to Cardiff, Wales tomorrow - his first since becoming King following the passing of his mother Queen Elizabeth - and Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby announced there wouldn't be a show tomorrow.

Holly and Phil made the announcement at the end of today's show, where they had been chatting with many people who had met the late Queen or King Charles. Sir Trevor McDonald, Katherine Jenkins and other celebrity guests were also there to pay tribute.

At the end of today's show, Holly and Phil paid tribute to the Queen, saying "thank you for everything ma'am" as the show segued into an emotional montage of Queen Elizabeth's wonderful reign alongside the heartbreaking tune We'll Meet Again.

Usually, This Morning airs on Friday's, hosted by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, but it won't air tomorrow as ITV instead show rolling news coverage of the King's historic visit to Cardiff.

It has not yet been confirmed when This Morning will return but it likely will be on Tuesday, as ITV are airing multi channel coverage of the Queen's funeral on September 19 from early in the morning.

ITV have seen many schedule changes since the rare statement from Buckingham Palace last Thursday, which announced the Queen was being looked after by doctors. Her family rushed to be at her side, prompting even more fears.

It was announced later that day that the Queen had passed in the afternoon. The historic and heartbreaking statement from Buckingham Palace read: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."

Since then, King Charles has been leading the family's tributes to the Queen.

"The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family. We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother," he said in a heartbreaking statement.

"I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world. During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held."
