ITV's The Masked Singer: Traffic Cone may have 'accidentally' been 'unveiled'

It's supposed to be one of the best kept secrets in TV but the identity of one of the celebs beneath the mask in a popular show could have been revealed following a stray tweet.

ITV's The Masked Singer is a competition all about mystery when it comes to who is hiding underneath the costume but comedian Rob Beckett could have let the cat out of the bag.

Or is he double bluffing, as some fans of the show suspect.

The Celebs Go Dating narrator caused chaos online with his "accidental" message about The Masked Singer's Traffic Cone.

The cheeky celeb posted a tweet during the show on Saturday that looked as though it was meant for his social media team, reported Wales Online.

It simply read: "Just send this out once I've been unmasked".

Continuing: "Thanks for all the support being the Traffic Cone I absolutely loved it. Great show. The kids couldn’t believe it was me."

While many took the tweet at face value and accused Rob of dropping spoilers, others were quick to point out it was probably a double bluff or a joke.

One fan replied: "You wish you could sing that well", while another added: "Nice try!!"

A third wrote: "You nearly had me then! Panic ran through me having watched it after being "out" last night. Had to rewatch the end! Good one."

Others didn't take it in such good humour though. One tweet read: "Thanks! Was just about to watch it. Not much point now."

Following up the tweet on Monday, January 17, Beckett posted a series of comments including one that read: "I’m loving the fact people think I have a social media team. All crowded round me filming me eat chicken by a bin."

On Saturday night Bagpipes was revealed to be tennis star Pat Cash

Traffic Cone is still firmly in the game with many guessing a Welsh legend is behind the mask.

In week one Traffic Cone sang a rendition of 'Never Gonna Give You Up' in the show where celebrities conceal their identities beneath a costume while singing and giving clues to help viewers and panellists guess their true self.

So far, celebs including Olly Murs, Peter Andre, Aled Jones and Sir Tom Jones have been thought to be hiding beneath the Traffic Cone.

The Masked Singer UK returns this Saturday night on ITV, 7.00pm or catch up and ITV hub.
