ITV's The Chase player 'cursed' after mentioning LFC season ticket

A contestant on The Chase who wanted to visit Liverpool with any winnings was 'cursed' on Thursday's episode.

Host Bradley Walsh welcomed Alex, Michele, Nicky and Joe to work as a team. They took on a challenge of wits against chaser Mark 'The Beast' Labbett in a bid to win a cash prize.

The game got off to a good start, with Alex adding £1,000 to the prize fund and Michele potting an extra £4,000. But then it was Liverpool supporter Nicky's turn to play.

The 32-year-old assistant headteacher, from Bournemouth, said she hoped to spend any winnings travelling to and from Liverpool and buying a season ticket to support the reds. She got off to an alright start, answering just four questions correctly in the cash builder round.

Not wanting to disappoint her students who were watching she dismissed a low offer and instead opted for a middle offer of £4,000. But that is where her luck ran out as The Beast was on her tail before finally catching her and sending her home with nothing, meaning her trips to Merseyside would be even further away.

Fans on Twitter joked that she was 'cursed' the minute that she mentioned supporting LFC. Josh said: "It was all going so well until she mentioned a Liverpool season ticket! #TheChase."

Another user added: "Cursed as soon as she mentioned Liverpool #TheChase." Paul said: "#TheChase Aww poor Nicky from Bournemouth is not getting her Liverpool season ticket!"
