ITV's The Chase contestant "sulks" as he has disagreement with Darragh Ennis

One player on The Chase didn't have the friendly run in he hoped for with Chaser, Darragh Ennis.

Bradley Walsh hosted the ITV show as he welcomed Cole, Ian, Andrew and Jo to go head-to-head with a quizmaster. All hoped to test their wits and work together to go home with a cash prize.

First up was scientist Cole, who said he would love to face Darragh Ennis as they both work in the science field. But, before even meeting the chaser, Cole messed up.

The player made the mistake of mispronouncing Darragh's name as he pronounced it "Darrar". Bradley corrected him as he said: "It's Darragh not Darrar. If it's him." The contestant replied: "Well that's going to be awkward."

Darragh walked through the doors, revealing himself to be the chaser of the day. Cole said: "I can only apologise." Darragh replied: "It's fine. At least you quiz better than you pronounce my name."

But things seemed to go from bad to worse as Cole was caught by the chaser after going for a middle offer of £6,000, sending him home with nothing. The biology team leader was beaten by a science related question.

Darragh teased him as he said: "I would suggest not telling anyone at work that you were on the show because that was a really really..." He was cut off as Cole rolled his eyes and said: "I'm a biologist not a chemist."

Fans on Twitter commented on the player's attitude. Kevin said: "Blimey, is Cole the biggest sulk to have ever been on The Chase #TheChase"

Lance said: "Bye Cole who is highly embarrassed #thechase". Elizabeth said: "Bye Cole, that was embarrassing #TheChase".

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
