ITV show Lorraine was taken off air today as Boris Johnson prepares to resign as Prime Minister.
The ITV daytime show was pulled off air as Downing Street confirmed he would be making a statement today where it is expected for him to confirm his resignation and leader of the Conservative Party after over 50 ministers left their post.
During the show today, Lorraine Kelly was presenting their usual show and interviewing Aston Merrygold when the announcement came and ITV moved their coverage to the news as it was confirmed that Mr Johnson would be speaking to the nation later today.
Regular programming has since returned to This Morning - hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby - but with the Prime Minister statement expected to come around 12.30pm, it is thought Loose Women could be taken off air too.
Mr Johnson has been served with a number of resignations, including Education Secretary Michelle Donelan who had been in her post for less than two days before she made her decision.
In a letter posted online, she wrote: "You have put us in an impossible situation. I am deeply saddened that it has to come to this, but as someone who values integrity above all else, I have no choice."
Elsewhere, newly appointed Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi - who replaced Rishi Sunak - has told Boris Johnson to "do the right thing" and quit, but was adamant to retain his own position.
"Prime Minister: this is not sustainable and it will only get worse: for you, for the Conservative Party and most importantly of all the country. You must do the right thing and go now," he wrote alongside a letter he penned to the Prime Minister.
He said he "made it clear" to the Prime Minister that it was time to go - but he had not listened.
"Yesterday I made it clear to the Prime Minister...there was only one direction this was going and that he should leave with dignity," he wrote, "I am heartbroken he hasn't listened and he is now undermining the incredible achievements of this Government."
Sources have confirmed to The Mirror that Mr Johnson will be leaving his post, with it believed that a new leader will be appointed by October time as resignations continue to mount from the current government.
Lorraine had the help of a psychic pig on her show today - who predicted the Prime Minister would leave.
"Well I think that's pretty definitive, the psychic pig has spoken," Lorraine said before adding: "You cannot argue with the mystic pig, Boris Johnson, it is time for you to go."
