Loraine Kelly was briefly stopped in her tracks, during her show on Tuesday, as the host struggled to get her words out live on air.
A permanent fixture on ITV for decades now, Lorraine has returned to her programme this week after taking a break for half term. There was some early disruption to the programme on Tuesday, when the presenter broke the news to her viewers that Britain's Got Talent winner Viggo Venn, had pulled out of a planned appearance in the studio, explaining: "Viggo Venn was supposed to be joining me in the studio this morning, but he's not feeling too chipper. But hopefully we'll see him later on."
Later on in the episode, Lorraine was joined live by one of her resident style experts, Vogue Williams, to talk through some of the different trends making a splash this summer. However, just as she was trying to talk to Vogue, Lorraine's voice suddenly went really hoarse, as she struggled to be heard and started to cough.
As Vogue joked: "It wasn't a heavy night was it?" Lorraine assured her it was nothing of the sort, joking that she 'wouldn't have minded if it was,' before trying to move on with the show.
Lorraine's struggle came just months after she had to take some time off air, after falling ill while preparing for her show behind the scenes at ITV.
Informing her many Twitter followers that she'd been struck down by a bug, Lorraine posted: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!!"
Just weeks later and, after her return to work, Lorraine than sparked concerns from ITV colleagues when she was struck down by a sore throat.
