ITV's Lorraine Kelly makes plea for cure as voice issue forces her to be replaced by Dr Hilary

Lorraine Kelly pleaded for cure suggestions as a voice issue forced her to be replaced. The ITV presenter faced "issues" as she lost her voice ahead of her self-named talk show on Thursday, March 16.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Good Morning Britain's Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway discussed what had been happening - with Lorraine having to be replaced by Dr Hilary. Kate told the audience: "So Lorraine is here at 9am but if you follow our Twitter you will know that there are issues going on." The screen cut to Lorraine so she could give a preview of what was to come, but they were met by her holding up a sign instead.

The Scottish host's sign read: "I've lost my voice. Hilary can you take over?"

Kate asked: "Hilary are you there?" The screen cut to him as he said: "I am. And while we help Lorraine get her voice back I can tell you what she's got coming up."

Back in the GMB studio, Ben couldn't help making a joke out of his friend as he put on a croaky voice and said: "We can help you." As Kate erupted into laughter, Ben added: "Have you been shouting at the Chancellor, is that what it is?" Lorraine nodded in agreement with a huge grin on her face.

Kate jokingly said: "I don't like the idea that female presenters are reduced to writing things on cards. We will be silenced Lorraine!"

Lorraine held up a second sign, which said: "See you at 9am." Ben said: "It's going to be a thoroughly entertaining hour with Lorraine and no voice."

On Twitter, Lorraine had wrote: "HELP! I’ve lost my voice - any cures that have worked for you (and yes - well aware some might say me not able to talk can only be a blessing)."

Lorraine's health has impacted her ITV show twice this month. Just a few weeks ago the host was "attacked" by a "hideous" sickness bug which forced her to go home sick "for the first time ever".

At the time, she said: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert. THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"
