ITV's Lorraine Kelly issues Twitter apology after 'horrifying' Kate Garraway blunder

Lorraine Kelly offered ITV viewers her sincere apologies after a 'horrifying' moment she found herself the focus of, thanks to something that happened to Kate Garraway on Good Morning Britain.

The long-serving TV presenter was getting reading backstage for her daily show at 9am when GMB anchor Kate had Lorraine's image projected onto the green dress she was wearing in the studio. Unfortunately, there was some unfortunate placement of where Lorraine's cleavage ended up in relation to Kate's body, as millions of viewers at home watched on.

Many of those who witnessed the live faux pas rushed to Twitter in hysterics and it didn't take long for it to come to Lorraine's attention either. Someone tweeted her a screen grab of what Kate looked like, writing: "Not sure @GMB thought this one through @reallorraine cleavage projected onto @kategarraway."

And, sharing it on her own Twitter timeline, Lorraine added: "OMFG - I can only apologise profusely for the damage inflicted !!" While the host was clearly mortified by what happened, hyer posting a photo on her own account only helped to highlight it to those who weren't already aware that it happened.

Reacting to Lorraine's tweet, one of her followers posted: "I really laughed. I don’t know who came of worse you or Kate. Made my day," with another responding: "My mother noticed it straight away. I told her it'll end up on Twitter."

A third joked: "No apology needed far worse for Kate…. there are some things you can never ‘un see.'

The Lorraine and Kate 'moment' came just days after Lorraine returned to work, having been struck down by a nasty bug whilst in the studio last Wednesday. Lorraine has been very active on Twitter since her return to work, not least on Wednesday when she hit back at someone who took aim at her appearance on screen.

Including Lorraine in their tweet, a Twitter troll wrote: ""I really think Lorraine needs a makeover hair is awful I’m surprised no one has mentioned this time for a short cut Lorraine."

Lorraine was quick to respond, replying before heading on sert to host Wednesday's show, to write: "Well good morning Cathy - only problem - when I have short hair I look like Wilson from “Castaway “ (if you know you know)"
