Kate Garraway has given a sad and very honest update on the health 'struggle' still faced by husband Derek Draper, three years on from hisd life hanging in the balance as he battle coronavirus.
It was right at the very start of the Covid pandemic that former political aide Derek was taken into hospital after struggling with symptoms of the virus; with him then placed in a medically induced coma as his condition took a turn for the worse. Derek was in hospital for over a year, with Kate and the couple's children Billy and Darcy unable to see him for months on end due to lockdown restrictions.
Derek was finally allowed to return home to be with his family in spring 2021, with millions of viewers given a candid insight into just how things had been for him and his loved ones in ITV documentary Finding Derek, with Kate having the whole of the O2 Arena on their feet as it won at the National Television Awards in 2021.

Whille delighted to have Derek back at home with her, Kate has been very open about the fact that he still faces a long road to recovery and there have been some worrying moments over the last year, when he's been taken to hospital on a number of occasions.
And Kate has now spoken out again about how Derek is doing as a fan messaged her on Twitter. The woman wrote: "I just watched Finding Derek on ITV X. It is a very powerful story and makes us realise how important family is and how health can change lives Well done to you and your kids for staying strong."
Giving her response on Monday morning, Kate indicated that Derek is still struggling, as she replied wrote: "Thank you so much that means a lot and sending love this morning to all those still struggling with life changing ill health as Derek still is and all those that fight on and care for them.
Another one of her followers then commented: "Kate it most be such a worry trying to do GMB and your radio show with Derek always on your mind hoping he will soon be improving for you and your family"
