ITV's Good Morning Britain slammed for Harry and Meghan South Park debate as things get tense

Good Morning Britain has been slammed by viewers following their debate on South Park's dig at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

In the most recent episode of the US cartoon, entitled The Worldwide Privacy Tour, 'the prince of Canada and his wife' appear and continue to plead for privacy.

A trailer uploaded by South Park Studios shows a clip of Kyle complaining about the prince and princess’s move to the neighbourhood to Stan and Kenny whilst sat in the school canteen during lunch, writes Manchester Evening News.

They could then be seen on Good Morning Canada, holding picket signs urging for privacy before the host roasted them for the prince's new book, Waaagh.

And the skit was discussed on GMB today as Ed Balls and Ranvir Singh welcomed the panel made up of Jacqui Smith, Iain Dale and Jack Royston.

Ranvir began the chat saying she found it quite hard to watch. She said: "I mean, it is quite hard to watch isn't it? It's tough."

Jacqui said: "Listen, I'm Team Meghan, but I still think that was funny. The poster saying 'Stop looking at us."

Ranvir then said: "Right okay so this is a big deal that they've had the mickey taken out of them on a massive show like that. It's like when you're in The Simpsons, it's an accolade but when you're in South Park, I'm not sure so much."

Fans took to social media to comment on the episode (Comedy Central)

Ed then added: "All of the big stars have been mocked in this way," before Jack said: "There's a big thing happening in America right now, they've transitioned from being Obama 2.0, these really serious celebrities to being these figures of ridicule, it's not just South Park, it's been Saturday Night Live and Jimmy Fallon and other big, big, big mainstream comedy shows. So it's a big transition.

"We actually had some polling before Harry's book came out and then again afterwards and they have crashed in the US opinion polls. So public opinion in America has swung significantly in the US. Harry has dropped 45 points."

But GMB fans weren't happy at all, despite Ed pointing out that other big names have been mocked, they pointed out that Harry and Meghan aren't the first of the royal family to feature in the US show.

Ranvir Singh lightheartedly mocked her GMB co-host Ed Balls (ITV)

One tweeted: "#GMB @GMB Forgetting there are receipts of South Park done the same to Kate and William Queen."

One viewer then shared a screen grab of the late Queen being imitated in the show and wrote: "Btw this is South Park. I don’t recall #gmb making a big deal of it like this when other members of the royal family are being mocked lol."

Another fan asked: "Have they mentioned South Park and William and Kate? #GMB."

While one added: "Who cares, it's a cartoon!? #GMB #SouthPark #HarryandMeghan."
