Dancing on Ice sees a starstudded line-up skate their way onto the ice, sometimes for the first time in their lives, in the name of entertainment every year. Whilst some celebrities perform show-stopping routines and earn themselves high scores, others tumble and fall, much to the amusement of the British public.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have reprised their hosting role for this year's series, although Stephen Mulhern had to step in for Phillip in February after the This Morning presenter tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, this year's judges' panel has featured some formidable talents from the dancing and skating worlds, including Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, and Ashley Banjo.
Fans of the show up and down the country tune in every Sunday evening to watch a dwindling cohort of celebrities try their best to stay in the competition, which is now down to just five famous contestants and their partners. With eight weeks down, we're approaching the end of the competition - but when is the final?
The final of Dancing on Ice has been postponed due to a major TV schedule shake up. The winner of this year's competition was initially set to be announced on March 20, but has been pushed back to March 27 due to the FA Cup Quarter Final falling on March 20, taking up Dancing on Ice's usual 6:30pm slot.
Five celebrities remain in the competition. They include dancer Regan Gascoigne, pop star Kimberly Wyatt, The Vamps member Connor Ball, Olympian Kye Whyte, and dancer Brendan Cole.
On Sunday, March 6, Paralympian Stef Reid left the competition after losing the dance off against Kye Whyte and Tippy Packard. However, the pair were still praised by the judges, with Torvill claiming they probably would have made it to the final of another series.
After her departure was announced, Stef said: "I've loved every moment. It's not something that I ever thought I'd be able to do."
Last week's show saw the celebrities get their skates on and perform routines which had been inspired by Torvill and Dean. It was declared one of the best shows in the history of Dancing on Ice by Phillip Schofield, as three pairs scored top marks for their routines.
For the second week in a row, Brendan Cole and partner Vanessa Bauer scored 40/40. They were showered in praise by judges for their incredible headbanger move, with Torvill saying: "I just loved the moments you took from the original routine. Everything flowed beautifully together and then we end up with a headbanger, perfect."
