ITV's Ant and Dec get set for huge first as Prince's Trust Awards loom

Ant and Dec have started the countdown to what will be one of their biggest TV moments to date and a huge first for ITV, as they host this year's Prince's Trust Awards.

With them celebrating the end of another successful series of Saturday Night Takeaway and the launch of new gameshow Limitless Win, the Geordie hosts were constant presences on screen in the early part of 2022. And, after just weeks away, they were back on the TV as Britain's Got Talent returned after 18 months away.

As they always are on the hit talent show, Ant and Dec have been at the forefront of the BGT action, commentating from the wings as the auditions take place and hitting their Golden Buzzer for magician Keiichi Iwasaki a few weekends ago. With the hosts and all four judges now selecting their Golden Buzzer acts, it wont be long until the live shows start.

But, before then, Ant and Dec have the prestigious job of hosting this year's Prince's Trust Awards, which are an even bigger deal than usual this year, as they will air on ITV for the first time. The Geordie duo have been proud patrons of the charity for many years and, will once again be at the helm of the awards bash as it returns for 2022.

And, starting the countdown to the big night, by sharing a photo of them hosting previous ceremony, the lads took to Twitter to write: "Throwback to when we last hosted #princestrustawards in person… and now it’s going to be on your telly for the very first time! Only one week to go… see u Thu 26 May 8.30pm"

On hosting the awards, Ant said: “It’s an absolute privilege to be involved in The Prince’s Trust Awards again this year and to be hosting it for the 10th time. It is always so inspirational to hear from these young people who through pure determination and against all odds have come out fighting and achieved so much.” Dec commented: “We’re honoured to play a part in the amazing work of The Prince’s Trust. The young people celebrated at The Prince’s Trust Awards have shown real strength, commitment and dedication and are proof that the support offered by The Trust really is life changing.”
