ITV presenting icon Alison Hammond sparked rumours she’s single when she made a cryptic comment on This Morning.
The Great British Bake Off host, 48, dropped the remark on Monday's show as she hosted alongside co-star Holly Willoughby.
Alison was discussing people wearing green rings in public to display they were single. The mum-of-one from Birmingham was sporting an emerald-coloured ring herself on today's show according to Birmingham live.
The TV presenter explained: “More people are wanting to meet people out and about and having a green ring might be a good idea so that people know you're single. As you can see, I've got my single ring on.”
Holly added to viewers: “Hopefully you won't need it for a lifetime." She explained that the ring is on sale for £19.99 and gives buyers a "lifetime membership" to a single's club - The Pair Club.
On Friday, Alison said she is "single", while eyeing up a new programme dubbed "the middle-aged Love Island ". It came as she and co-host Dermot O'Leary discussed the upcoming ITV dating show Romance Retreat, and Dermot said Alison should sign up. He said: “Hold on a second, there’s a casting call, Alison".
He added: “ITV is looking for vibrant single parents across the UK", to which Alison laughed and replied: “Well I am single, I'm single!” Dermot then noted how contestants can win a cash prize at the end of the series, while her co-stars egged her on to “do it".
Alison said: "I'd give the money to charity, but I could do that and find a nice man." Dermot laughed: “Your two favourite things." Alison hosted with Holly today, as Phillip Schofield takes a week off.
Meanwhile, she also recently made a beeline for chart-topping sensation Lewis Capaldi when he appeared on the ITV morning show last week.
The Pointless singer appeared on the show to talk about his upcoming Netflix documentary 'How I'm Feeling Now' - and of course he left the presenting duo in fits of laughter.
The ITV hosts were delighted to sit down with the Scots singer as Alison admitted she's a big fan of his and, just as the interview was wrapping up, the two ended up falling on the sofa together in stitches.
After chatting about his documentary, Lewis said: "Thanks so much for having me, I've had such fun!
Alison laughed and replied: "I'll give you fun!" and made a beeline for the singer to hug him and the pair fell back, crying with laughter together.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITVX.
