ITV legend Alison Hammond was left beaming when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield shared some unexpected news about her on This Morning. Holly and Phillip were fronting the show yesterday (Wednesday, May 18) when they told viewers Alison had "broken America".
Alison has become a huge hit with fans, sitting in for Holly and Phillip on the ITV show every Friday with Dermot O'Leary. However, Alison is probably best loved for her celebrity interviews, sharing many memorable moments with some of Hollywood's biggest stars, as the MEN reports.
And now, clips of her showbiz encounters and her infectious laughter that often crops up during them has caught the attentions of those across the Atlantic and have been on featured on a primetime American show.

Starting the show yesterday, Holly, 41, said: "We have big news about our very own Alison Hammond...she has broken America!" Phillip, 60, then explained: "In a montage played on last week's Tonight with John Oliver, viewers were treated to a compilation of Alison's laugh."
The montage entitled 'The Delightful Delight of Alison Hammond,' then played out on screen and included a bit of her interview with actors Harrison Ford and co-star Ryan Gosling, which resulted in her collapsing into laughter after admitting to Harrison she'd never seen Blade Runner.
As the lip ended and cameras cut back to the studio when Holly remarked: "Well done! It was only a matter of time." Phillip then shared more praise for Alison, adding: "That is the biggest show for comedians in America. What a great thing to be on."
Alison then took to Instagram to share the clip of Holly and Phil revealing her news. Clearly excited, she said: "I've broken America!! with …… wait for it …………….my Laugh." She then added: "@thismorning thanks holly and phil for the big up."
Love Island host Laura Whitmore was among those commenting on Alison's post, writing: "Best laugh!!" while former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens said: "Love you and that fabulous laugh."
Mrs Hinch, aka Sophie Hinchcliffe, also shared: "You just bloody make my day QUEEN!" and Good Morning Britain's showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold added: "I broke it with a ‘fart’ on air: it was a squeaky @gmb sofa. But the ‘fart’ was heard around the world!"
And fans were also quick to heap praise. @ andrea_yorkshirelass wrote: "Loved you since the day you broke the table on Big Brother. Love your zest for life and every day should have a spot of Alison Hammond in it."
@squarehen shared: "Watching your Harrison Ford interview is still was of the most bloomin fabulous things Ive ever seen." @jay_nailed_it said: "Honestly, the British ambassador we want and need."
