You know the World Cup is just around the corner when a television broadcaster announces its line-up for the highly anticipated tournament, and that’s exactly what ITV have done.
Describing it as a “blockbuster World Cup 2022 squad” on their website, ITV said: “Viewers will be guided through the tournament by the stellar team, providing comprehensive coverage, expert analysis and the very best action on ITV”.
Confirming the line-up for the first time, ITV revealed that main presenters Mark Pougatch, Laura Woods and Seema Jaswal will be joined by Ian Wright, Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Karen Carney, Graeme Souness, Joe Cole, Eniola Aluko, Nigel De Jong, Nadia Nadim and Hal Robson-Kanu to offer “incredible insight, expertise, opinion and analysis” throughout the competition.

Commentators include Sam Matterface, Clive Tyldesley, Jon Champion, Seb Hutchinson, and Joe Speight, while Lee Dixon, Ally McCoist, John Hartson and Andros Townsend will fill in as co-commentators. Reporters during the tournament will be Gabriel Clarke and Michelle Owen.
ITV also confirmed that their coverage will be complemented with a referee analyst to break down all of the key and controversial on-field decisions, with BT Sport’s Peter Walton taking up that particular role.
In terms of fixtures and specific match coverage, ITV confirmed it will show 32 live matches in a packed schedule which kicks off on November 21, a day after the World Cup gets underway. One of the games that will be shown includes England's clash with the USA, taking place on November 25.
Some of the knock-out stages, quarter-finals and semi-finals will be broadcast live on ITV, as will the final itself.
