ITV reportedly facing This Morning boycott with big stars threatening to stay away from show

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby continue to put on a united front on This Morning as rumours of a backstage feud continue to grow. It has even been reported that A-listers are threatening to stay away from the show with insiders claiming there is a growing revolt behind the scenes.

It is being reported that the presenters' close friendship has come to an end amid claims he didn't warn her about his brother's court case and releasing a public statement without consulting her first.

Former This Morning star Fern Britton added to the rumours on Monday night teasing fans as she revealed she’s had the “loveliest catch up” with Phil's rival Eamonn Holmes, just hours after the GB News presenter took aim at the under-fire star.

She tweeted on Monday evening: “Unexpected calls from old mates are so lovely.

“Just had the loveliest catch up with @EamonnHolmes. I think we have known each other since the 80’s when we were babies. Shooting the breeze.”

Fans were quick to respond to the tweet, with one quipping: “Did you have a nice chat? Bet you’re both cackling over Phillip.”

The father-of-two, 61, was back on the sofa on Tuesday with Holly, 42, but showbiz reporter Dan Wootton, who writes in the Daily Mail and presents on GB News, says: "There is a major growing revolt brewing backstage at the broadcaster from some of its biggest stars – and a truckload of production staff – about the seeming double standards at play.

"How can ITV continue to stand by Phillip, despite a succession of scandals and complaints from highly credibly fellow presenters, given the brutality with which its discarded other stars, including Jeremy Kyle, Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson?"

He also claimed that Eamonn Holmes was axed as This Morning's Friday presenter after standing up to Phillip.

Eamonn added his own criticism on GB News on Monday saying: "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.

"He's brought in lawyers, she's brought in a PR team. The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it."

Dan Wootton went on to say he was aware of "at least two A-list This Morning regulars who have made it clear to bosses that they will not return to the show while Phillip remains in his job".

Phil released a statement to The Sun at the end of last week, insisting the pair remain "the best of friends" but admitting 'the last few weeks haven't been easy for either of us'.
