Gordon Ramsay's new cooking show, Next Level Chef, began on ITV1 and within minutes of the first episode starting Gordon told one fan to stop watching the show and "go to sleep". Gordon is joined by fellow chefs Paul Ainsworth and Nyesha Arrington where 12 contestants are tested on their culinary creativity, agility, flare, and expertise-you can read more about the show here.
As the show began on ITV1 many viewers Tweeted their excitement for the show including Nik who Tweeted out that despite her tiredness from working the night shift she wanted to make it to the end of the show. She said: "Loving #nextlevelchef already. Struggling to stay awake after nightshift last night but so want to watch til the end I can't go to sleep !!!! Fab idea @GordonRamsay".
Gordon replied to Nik's Tweet telling her she could catch up on the show later and to get some sleep. He said: "Nik....it'll be on @ITVX tomorrow...go sleep !! #NextLevelChefUK #NextLevelChef". Nik replied to Gordon telling him the show was too exciting to go to sleep.
She said: "Def not too exciting and don’t want anyone to tell me any spoilers. Im hooked now!!! #NextLevelChef". In the show, 12 chefs compete to win a life-changing cash prize of £100,000 and a one-year mentorship under all three professional chefs.
The eight-part series is set in a studio with three unique kitchen spaces set across three storeys and almost 50ft high. In each episode, chefs are assigned to cook in one of three kitchens stacked on top of each other.
The top level is equipped with a wide range of modern tools and devices, the middle level is a standard commercial kitchen, and the bottom level contains a limited collection of lower-quality equipment. Contestants will have 30 seconds to choose their ingredients and then battle it out to make the best dish in just 45 minutes.
