ITV Love Island's Luca Bish's family breaks silence over treatment of Gemma Owen

Luca Bish's family has broken their silence over the Islander's reaction to Gemma Owen.

The fishmonger is currently coupled up with Michael Owen's daughter on the latest season of Love Island. Luca was outraged last night over a clip broadcast during the popular dating programme's Movie Night.

Billy Brown put his arm around Gemma before she told him to stop. Luca was furious after the footage and aired his anger towards Gemma and Billy.

The latest episode of Love Island showed the fallout to the situation as Luca apologised to Gemma for his behaviour. His sister took to Instagram ahead of the programme and also branded the response as "insensitive".

She posted on his official account: "I want to apologise on behalf of Luca for his insensitive reaction on last night's episode. I know that when he watches it back, he will be embarrassed and deeply apologetic.

"We as his family don't condone his behaviour last might, but we do understand he is in an intense environment where his actions are heightened. Last night was not reflective of the boy we all know and love at home.

"Please be aware death threats and nasty comments totally overstep the mark and something we has a family should not have to endure, for this reason we have turned off the comments and messages.

"For all those who have sent messages checking in on us, we would like to thank you very much and we see you."
