Davide Sanclimenti wasted no time in getting stuck in as he cheekily nabbed a bite of a cake that had been created of his girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. The loved-up couple, who won Love Island last month, have had a lot to celebrate this week following a dream trip to New York.
While Ekin-Su saw made her catwalk debut during New York Fashion Week and saw her face up on a billboard in Times Square as the face of her very own Oh Polly collection, said to be a deal worth £1million, Davide also had news to share as he too put pen to paper and signed his first big deal.
Joining his girl on the big screen in the iconic Big Apple location, Davide, 27, wrote alongside a video on Instagram: " So happy to announce I’m the newest member of the @boohooMANofficial family!" He then went on: " What a surprise to see myself on a billboard in Times Square!
"I'm feeling so grateful. Thank you all for the amazing support, I couldn’t have done this without you. This is just the beginning! Watch this space." In the clip, Davide, who lives in Manchester, couldn't take the smile off of his face as he saw his face up in lights for the firs time.
Ekin-Su, 28, was among the first to reply to the post, typing: "I’m really proud of you. You work really hard and you really deserve this! I’ll always be by your side cheering you on [heart] love you." She also shared her own video, showing the pair packing on the PDA as her Oh Polly ad ran in the background.
David, from Rome, was quick to show his support in return and told her: "My baby I’m soo proud of you. You’re beautiful person inside and out, and this is only the beginning, I’ll be always there to support you. Love u." But it was soon time for them to head back to the UK and there was a bit of a surprise.
Unbeknown to Ekin-Su, a cake had arrived which had been expertly b aked and crafted to resemble the Turkish actress. The curvaceous cake-based depiction of Ekin-Su had been dressed in a bright orange co-ord, identical to one in her first fashion range. Taking to Instagram, Davide filmed his other half as she arrived home to see the creation sat staring at her.
She was completely surprised before questioning if it was cake, giving it a stroke before smelling it to realise it was in fact real. She then went next to it, pondering if it did look like her. But afterwards, Davide shared a video to TikTok of him cheekily taking a bite out of the lavish treat.
As he grinned at the camera, he wrote: "When you have good taste." The video has been viewed more than 2.7 million times with hundreds of thousands of likes and comments. Earlier this month the pair were reunited after spending time apart while Ekin-Su jetted to LA to shoot her campaign for Oh Polly.
However, their reunion comes after Ekin-Su spoke out on claims her boyfriend cheated. Davide was reportedly spotted in the back of a taxi with two women after a night out in London - while Ekin-Su was away working. Davide had headed to the KSI boxing match at the O2 Arena at the end of last month.
But Ekin-Su has firmly quashed any suggestion of wrongdoing on Davide’s part, saying she ‘knows it’s not true’ as she was ‘talking to him the whole night’. S he told Goss.ie at an event on Saturday: "You know the relationship is between me and him and people like to talk. The truth behind that is it wasn’t just him, it was a big group, and it just happened to be two girls in a taxi with him and his friend and it just looked wrong, that’s all it was. And you know I trust him, he didn’t cheat, and he’s my man," Ekin-Su added.
