ITV Love Island: Maya Jama fans call for page dedicated to host's showstopping outfits

Maya Jama's long-awaited summer Love Island debut was luxurious than ever as she greeted viewers from a yacht on Monday evening (June 5) - but it is her dress sense that appears to be causing the biggest stir. The Bristolian host, who cheered up our dreary January evenings when she hosted her first series of Love Island earlier this year, is currently making her first string of appearances in the Majorcan villa for series 10 of the show.

Whilst the nation's Love Island obsession appears to be dwindling with each passing year, Maya's presence is keeping things hot and fresh, with fans often left disappointed when she doesn't make an appearance at the fire pit. Aside from her natural presenting style and effervescent charisma, one of the many things that fans are loving about Maya is her wardrobe for Love Island, which appears to be crammed to the brim with countless enviable ensembles.

On Monday night, Maya wowed in two different white dresses - the first sheer and striped look, the other a summery crochet - for her daytime appearances. But, as night fell upon the villa for the first time in series 10 of the ITV2 hit, Maya was a glamorous vision in royal blue as she strutted towards the islanders in an extreme cut-out dress.

Posting a series of snaps in her night-time look, which she teamed with a dramatic eye and gold bangles, Maya was flooded with comments from fans, who could not get enough of her night one outfit choice. "We need a page dedicated to Maya's outfits," one fan wrote.

But Maya's eagle-eyed followers were quick to source the designer gown, with another fan commenting: "In case anyone is wondering the dress is @balmain."

Maya already has fans loyal enough to keep themselves primed to research each of her looks. One fan account, @mayajama_closet, posts Maya's outfits, or dupes of them, to provide fashion inspiration to the scores of those who worship the former Radio 1 DJ as a style icon.

But, despite the amazing job Maya is doing, interest in Love Island appears to be dwindling year-on-year. The ITV2 reality show, usually a huge hit with viewers and a sure sign that summer is here, was watched live on the channel by 1.3 million viewers on Monday, as series 10 got underway.

According to the BBC, this figure is down by a million from the series eight opening episode in summer 2022, which was watched by an average TV audience of 2.4 million. Four years ago, the first episode of the 2019 series attracted a staggering 3.3 million.

Including ITVX viewers, ITV has claimed that viewing figures for Monday night's episode stand at 1.7 million. However, the programme attracted the most viewers of the day from the 16 to 34-year-old age demographic, and was the second most watched show in its time slot, the broadcaster has said.
