Love Island fans have called out show bosses after a 'criminal move' seconds before the end of the latest episode that saw Casa Amor come to an end. This week the villa has been split with the girls heading off to a secondary location where they had the opportunity to get to know six new male bombshells.
And as is usual with the ITV2 dating show's annual relationship test, the boys stayed in the main villa where they were joined by six new female bombshells. Following a week of head-turning and loyalties being tested, it was time for the two villas to unite in an intense recoupling.
Host Maya Jama returned to the South African villa during Thursday night's episode (February 16) to find out who would be sticking with their partners and who would be moving on to someone new. And it didn't disappoint as viewers saw Shaq Muhammad lost for words, Will Young in tears over Jessie Wynter and Olivia Hawkins lock horns with Kai Fagan.
The islanders were later left in shock after Tanya Manhenga decided to return to the villa with Martin Akinola despite having been coupled up with 24-year-old airport security officer Shaq since the beginning of the series. Ahead of Tanya’s return, Shaq had told Maya and his fellow islanders that he felt “a piece of me has been missing” as he declared his love for the 23-year-old biomedical sciences student.
Elsewhere during the episode, farmer and TikTok star Will, 23, became emotional as he explained his decision to recouple with personal trainer and influencer Jessie, 26, despite having shared a kiss with bombshell Layla Al-Momani. Will told Maya: "The last couple of days have really been eating me alive… Everyone has seen I’ve not been myself.”
He added: “I have let myself down and I really hope I haven’t let Jessie down too much." After choosing to remain in his couple with Jessie, she returned to the villa, also single and looking overjoyed, telling Will: "I am so happy… I honestly knew I could trust you."
However, tensions grew after Will revealed he had not been completely faithful to Jessie. " feel like I’ve let myself down and you down… I honestly feel like the worst human,” he said as he began crying to which a shocked Jessie replied: "I actually don’t have any words right now… I really didn’t think you would have done that."
Relations were also frosty between former partners Olivia and 24-year-old teacher Kai, who both opted to recouple with new arrivals. After admitting it was one of the “toughest” decisions he’d had to make, Kai opted to recouple with Sanam Harrinanan, meanwhile, Olivia re-entered the main villa with Maxwell Samuda.
But as the recoupling came to a close with Shaq and Tanya's split, Love Island viewers were flocking to social media to share a complaint. @amy____2 tweeted: "No fIRST LOOK??????????? Criminal #LoveIsland." @Lilypeacockx screamed: "NO TOMORROW NIGHT PREVIEW??!!! What you doing to me #loveisland."
@27m87s asked: "Wheres our TOMORROW NIGHT preview? #loveisland." xmaaisieex echoed: "WHERE’S MY TOMORROW NIGHT PREVIEW!?!?!! #loveisland #LoveIslandUK@AimOwen93 commented: "Not a fan of the no preview of tomorrow night #LoveIsland."
But others think that it can only mean that there's plenty of drama on the way. @YED24 siad: "No preview for tomorrows episode??? You just KNOW it’s gonna be SPICY!! #loveisland #LoveIslandUK." @theeanayy posted: "We didn’t even get a preview, yup hell is loose tomorrow #LoveIsland."
