Love Island fans were enthralled as they potentially saw relationships fall apart and others formed on Tuesday night's steamy episode. In the latest instalment of the ITV2 dating contest the Islanders were challenged to set pulses racing in the Heart Race challenge.
The boys and girls took it in turns to perform raunchy striptease dances for each other. Dressed in sexy costumes and connected to heart monitors, the aim was to find out who set heart rates soaring the most for each Islander.
Tasha Ghouri was in tears to find out that her partner in the TV villa Andrew Le Page had responded the most to fellow dancer Danica Taylor, who had revealed earlier in the day that she was interested in getting to know him. And Paige Thorne was upset to discover that her love interest Jacques O'Neill had the biggest reaction to his ex Gemma Owen.

It was doubly awkward when Gemma's heart rate also raised the most in reponse to Jacques' performance for her, and the moment led fans to come up with a wild theory. Viewers are aware that dressage rider Gemma dated rugby player Jacques before Love Island but it had them pondering if there could be more to it.
@ollieollieGA tweeted: "Right #LoveIsland fans my theory on Gemma and Jacques - they were still together on the outside and decided to 'break up' for LI. They couple up with others and then steal the money if they win. OR towards the end they couple up and make it seem like they shouldnt have split up!"
@PeaksLfc tweeted: "Gemma and Jacques plan is to couple up and win money at the end I bet." And @aaaaa55331 mused: "So the result indicate that the strongest couple is … Gemma/Jacques."
Other fans of the show, which pairs up singles with the most popular couple scooping £50,000, think the exes seem the ideal match. @__WesleyBD said about the straight-talking pair: "I can see why Gemma and Jacques were a couple. They speak to people anyhow."
@PharrellSeason wrote: "I see why Gemma and Jacques matched as a couple." And watching the pair bicker around the pool @ltwtwembley tweeted: "Jacques and Gemma fighting like an old married couple."
Jacques O'Neill arrived in the villa as a bombshell days after Gemma, the daughter of footballing star Michael Owen, made her debut in the opening episode on Monday June 6.: "Oh my God! That's my ex-boyfriend," she told the other girls as she spotted him from the terrace.
Asked how long they were together Gemma replied “eight months.” And asked when she last saw him she said when they broke up about year and a half ago.
Gemma's love interest on the show is fishmonger Luca Bish, who quizzed Jay about his past with Gemma and what they were like together.
Jacques said: “I’d much rather be with Paige than Gem. Like 1000 per cent. Like I could literally go out with Paige, be myself and the next day wake up and have no issues, at all. Even if I’d said something wrong, or anything. But if I did that with Gem I’ve got questions to answer the next day.”
