ITV Love Island fans fear 'next level disgusting' scenes after spotting change

Love Island viewers are fearing they're in for 'next level disgusting' scenes after spotting a change during the latest episode. The new winter edition of the ITV2 dating show only kicked off earlier this week but was quite quickly hit with a problem that was affecting fans' viewing of the programme.

Ten new islanders made their way to South Africa in the hopes of finding love in the villa. The first coupling took place during episode one with new host Maya Jama making her debut. But since then, the series' first bombshell, Tom Clare, has entered the villa and stolen Michelle Keegan's body double Olivia Hawkins.

Footballer Tom’s decision has left Olivia’s former partner Will Young, a farmer and TikTok star, vulnerable to dumping after he received a text confirming the first exit is on the horizon. And more couples are at risk of being split as Wednesday night's episdoe saw the arrival of two more bombshells.

Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown, a 25-year-old model and property developer, and 24-year-old money adviser David Salako were the latest additions to the plush £1.2m villa. After Zara chose to take Ron Hall on a date, the 25-year-old financial adviser found himself in a “sticky position”.

While enjoying the date in the South African countryside, Ron, who is currently coupled up with 25-year-old make-up artist Lana Jenkins, told Zara that he was happy she picked him. After entering the villa, Zara took to the beach hut to share her thoughts on Lana and her interest in Ron, saying: “I’m aware that she’s (Lana) in a couple with him at the minute, but that’s not really an issue for me."

Meanwhile, Tanya Manhenga, who is currently coupled up with 24-year-old airport security officer Shaq Muhammad, was left feeling conflicted after her date with David. Earlier in the episode the 22-year-old biomedical science student shared the first kiss of the series with Shaq, however, she later told David: “I’m still open, the man of my dreams could be you.”

Following the date, Tanya shared her thoughts in the beach hut, saying: “I had a really good date with David, but Shaq is in my head, he’s sat there rent free in my head.

But eagle-eyed viewers noticed a change had been made to each of the islanders - specifically the mics they are wearing. The hit show has been facing battles with the wind with reports of up to 50mph winds in the area. And it was causing problems for those trying to watch.

@PAMFROMADM1N commented: "I’d be sooooooo stressed about that wind if I worked on the love island production team." @weezy2014x joked: "Anyone want to pull that wind for a chat and tell it to shoosh #LoveIsland." @sharonhill61 added: "That wind is really off putting I can’t concentrate #LoveIsland.

However, the show appears to have added larger, less discreet wind muffs onto the mics which has left viewers with a fear. @bwsxblossom wrote: "Just me or has love island changed the mics to being a bit bigger?? #loveisland." @BethanofAsgard asked: "Did they always have Pom Pom mics… Am I just stupid and only just noticing? #LoveIsland."

@ohemgem_ tweeted: "Ahhh no the size of the microphones this year… the kissing noises are going to be next level disgusting #LoveIsland." @kelseymarielew commented: "What’s with the massive fluffy Pom Pom mics this year #LoveIsland."

But it appears the concern isn't needed as Love island fans have already applauded the production team. @iiJvcob said: "pay rise to whoever turned the mics down for their kissing this year. the music over tanya and shaq was too good #loveisland." @ShanLeighHughes echoed: "Whoever turned the mics down this year during the kissing deserves a promotion #LoveIsland."
