Love Island fans were left confused as they tuned in to watch the islanders partake in a surprise recoupling following a double dumping from the villa as they spotted multiple editing blunders. The latest trip to South Africa for the ITV2 dating show saw Lana Jenkins embroiled in a new love triangle following her surprising recoupling decision.
Despite choosing to couple up with bombshell Casey O’Gorman on Sunday, the 25-year-old make-up artist from Luton admitted she would rather be sharing a bed with her former love interest Ron Hall. As the dust settled following Lana’s decision to recouple with recruitment consultant Casey, 26, Ron pulled her aside for a chat, after earlier rejecting her offer of a talk, and said: “I still want you. I still want to be with you because I still really care for you. My feelings for you, they’re not disappearing."
Having previously told her new partner Casey that she was happy with her decision, Lana later told her fellow female islanders: "If I’m being honest, being in bed with Casey, I was like, this doesn’t feel right. I just wanted to be in bed with Ron."
Later in Monday evening’s episode, the islanders took part in the Ladiator Challenge, which saw the boys don gladiator outfits, deliver a bold speech, flex their muscles for the girls and then choose a girl to carry around a course on a chariot. After completing the course, each boy had to place the girl of their choice on a royal throne and finish with a kiss.
But Love Island fans were left distracted by the apparent editing blunders during the show as Tanya Manhenga seemed to disappear and Ellie Spence was seen in one spot before 'reversing' to another one in the scene after. Tanya was sat with her partner Shaq Muhammad and Jordan Odofin as Casey read out his text message from producers detailing the latest challenge.
Elsewhere, Will Young was seen sitting down with Ellie whilst Jessie Wynter stood nearby as they all listened in. However, moments later, as Shaq was shown in the Beach Hut discussing how ready he was for the challenge, the scene cut back to where Tanya, Shaq and Jordan had been - but Tanya had completely disappeared and was nowhere in the shot.
The shot then jumped back to Ellie, Will and Jessie, and the bombshell was seen sitting down, despite having already been shown standing up in a previous scene as Will showed off his moves for the rest of the group in preparation for the trip out of the villa.
But fans also think they spotted another blunder between Shaq and Tanya. Speaking about her speech after the re-coupling, security officer Shaq told biomedical student and influencer Tanya: "You said a lot of stuff that really touched my heart. Honestly, you touched my heart. Do you know what touched my heart the most out of the whole thing?
"You saying that you couldn’t do outside life without me. I’ve got a whole lot of love to give." Tanya then told him: "I don’t think I can, you’re full of love and you care about me," as they talked the next steps. Fans, however, flocked to social media as they were left certain Shaq called Tanya by their fellow islander Tanyel's name.
@JamesCu55970976 asked: "#loveisland Did Shaq just say Tanyel?" @cxurtneylouisex commented: "Hold up did Shaq says Tanyel... #loveisland." @QulataPc shared: "I know shaq just said tanyel #loveisland." @tdngyio tweeted: "Shaq saying 'my hearts with tanyel' instead of tanya in the interview room im dyingggggg #loveisland." @kimmyneutronxo added: "Am i bugging or did Shaq accidentally say his heart is with Tanyel in the confessional #loveisland."
