ITV Love Island couple announce split just days after reunion airs

ITV Love Island stars Deji Adeniyi and Lacey Edwards have split just days after the reunion show aired.

The pair have called time on their romance after appearing at Sunday's wrap show when it was revealed they hadn't yet been on a first date since leaving the villa. This news comes after Deji was accused of being involved with fellow Casa Amor bombshell Coco Lodge.

Love Island Aftersun co-host Darren Harriott approached Lacey and Deji to quiz them on the progression of their love story this weekend. Darren said: "You guys look good together. You still going strong?" Deji replied: "Yeah, I mean, obviously... we've both been very busy so, she's obviously pissed I haven't taken her on a first date kind of thing."

"What are you doing? Get your act together," Darren said. "You make time for people if you want to, right?" Lacey savagely replied. Darren then asked Lacey if it was 'hard' to date someone like Deji, 'who is famously known for wanting problems'.

She replied: "At the moment, he's giving me problems. It's been so different since coming out of the villa. It was so intense in the villa, and we both really are two very chill people. I think maybe we're both being too chill right now."

But it appears their romance is over as sources claim the pair are "are no longer seeing each other" with Deji's alleged night with Coco being the "last straw" for Lacey. They added to The Sun that it was "basically over before it even began" because the two stars failed to even go on a date.

The insider claims: “Everyone could tell it was awkward between them at the Reunion after Lacey delivered some home truths. Now they've called it quits and are no longer seeing each other. Lacey didn't want to force something that wasn't meant to be and then the rumours about Deji and Coco were the final straw between them."

Before this news broke, Lacey spoke to the Mirror and admitted she hoped Deji would take her on a date but admitted the pair had struggled to spend time together since leaving the villa. She said: "Me and Deji are FaceTiming and talking every day. It was so nice to see him at the wrap party.

"We really wanna carry on things but right now we're just on different paths. He's at one event and I'm at one event and we're trying – it was so good to see him on Monday. We're still talking and I'll see him tomorrow so many when things calm down a bit.

"I said to him: 'You haven't taken me on a date yet, come on!' But going from that intense environment dating so intensely to coming out to the normal world where it slows down it makes it really strange but I'm hoping he'll take me out soon."

Love Island will return with two brand new series next year on both ITV2 and the ITV Hub.
