ITV's Lorraine viewers rushed to offer their support to former Hollyoaks star Joe Tracini during Thursday's show after he was invited on to discuss life with a split personality disorder.
The actor spoke about how difficult day-to-day living is with the illness - he also told presenter Lorraine Kelly, that he has thought about killing himself several times - causing alarm to many watching from home.
He has also written a book called 'Ten Things I Hate About Me' to help others in a similar situation, and says he struggles to stay alive everyday because he believes his brain is trying to kill him.
However, the interview caused a divide between viewers, with one saying: "Get him off, this is causing me anxiety. #lorraine"
"It looks like Joe needs more help than promoting a book. Can’t even imagine the thoughts he goes through on a daily basis, but hearing him repeatedly talking about killing himself this early am is worrying! #Lorraine," said another.
A third tweeted: "Really like @joetracini. Please keep talking and being you!! #lorraine "
" @joetracini You were so moving on #lorraine. SO much love to you…," someone else wrote.
While another post read: "He's talking about killing himself far too much, it's uncomfortable to watch. I am worried for this young man."
