ITV Lorraine's Ranvir Singh baffled by This Morning blunder as host apologises

Ranvir Singh was confused by a This Morning blunder on today's edition of Lorraine.

The 45-year-old has stepped in to front the ITV chat show this week as Lorraine Kelly enjoys a week off. The broadcaster hosted a jam-packed edition that included an interview with Simply Red's Mick Hucknall.

However, she was baffled at the end of the episode as she cut to the hosts of This Morning to introduce what was coming up in today's show. Wednesday's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme was hosted by Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond.

However, Ranvir attempted to get the hosts attention as they were caught unaware on the link. Dermot and Alison were talking amongst themselves as Ranvir said: "Are are you ready for us yet my loves? Have we come to you a bit early?"

Dermot apologised as the hosts were in hysterics when they realised they were on air. He said: "We couldn't hear you. I'm so sorry."

The 50-year-old styled out the gaffe as he added: "Hi Ranvir, we're totally ready because here's what's coming up for you on the show today. Josie will be finding out what it's like to live under the sea as she becomes a real life mermaid."

Alison said: "Alice Beer is heating things up as she shares her pick of this summer's best BBQs."

Fans following the show on Twitter were taken aback by the exchange as a user named Chantal asked: "What were Alison and Dermot doing?"
