ITV Lorraine Kelly admits pre-show panic as Kate Garraway reveals gruelling Good Morning Britain routine

Viewers who tune into ITV regularly are very much used to the run of shows they can expect to see each weekday. The morning line-up typically begins with Good Morning Britain which airs from 6am through to 9am with hosts such as Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid bringing viewers the latest news headlines.

Lorraine Kelly's self titled breakfast talk show then runs from 9am to 10am with a range of guests discussing a topical mix of news, entertainment and showbiz. Viewers can then tune in to see This Morning from 10am to 12:30pm, often featuring Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, followed by the Loose Women panel until 1:30pm.

As each show leads onto one another, the presenters will often cross over to the next programme to speak to the host and find out what's coming up. This was the case on Wednesday morning as GMB presenter Kate Garraway, who was joined by guest co-host Martin Lewis, tuned in to speak to Lorraine for a preview.

As the Scottish TV presenter appeared on GMB ahead of hosting her own show, Lorraine admitted she had a bit of a panic early in the morning ahead of her show.

Whilst speaking to Lorraine via a live video link, Kate said: "Lorraine I hear there has been a bit of confusion about your alarm clock, it's unheard of for you."

Lorraine responded: "I don't know what happened. I woke up and it was 2 o'clock in the morning but I thought I was late. Maybe I needed to go to specsavers I don't know, but other ones are available, but I got up and got ready and then wondered why all the clocks were set at 2am.

Martin asked: "Did the alarm go off, or did you just wake up early?".

Lorraine answered: "No it never, I just woke up and I don't know, I must have been in a really deep sleep and just panicked. You know when you just think 'I can't be late'.

It was then that Kate added: "Just to make you feel bad, that's when my alarm clock is set for anyway, but I've done it before where I've woken up at 2pm in the afternoon and done the same thing."

Kate, who is one of the main hosts of Good Morning Britain, revealed her day starts in the early hours of the morning as she has to get to the studio to prepare ahead of the ITV news programme going live at 6am.
